These works incorporate collaged prints of images generated by artificial intelligence based on my own paintings, torn up and reassembled to create new ways of seeing.

ABOUT THE WORK
In the Strategy & Mortality series, artificial intelligence is employed as a tool to generate images based on my own paintings. These AI visuals are granted physical form by printing them on paper, after which they are torn up and used as collage material for new paintings. Printing the digital images at different sizes allows me to re-combine them through layering and repetition. Each canvas therefore explores several ways of looking at a subject or idea.
Recurring images of skulls and chess pieces are both conflicted in the sense that they are simultaneously cerebral and violent, with criticism of power being a central theme.
